Synodiporia: Info Dump

Skills:

* Telepathic: N/A

* Liminal: Portal Creation (Stationary), Hammerspace 1, Liminal Manipulation 2, Room Creation 1, Intra-Liminal Skills

* Jaunt: Light Cycle, Constructive Enlightenment, Interface, Cantrips 2, Hecatite Racial Traits, Archetypal Champion Magic, Green Magic, Lightning Age Tech/Innovation (Clockwork), Mythobiology

* Other: Chariot's Favour

Kanji can also teach basic Tarot knowledge, Japanese language, sewing and crafting skills; he will assist in Shadow rescues if needed to help characters gain a Persona, though he can't and won't actively 'teach' it.

Jaunt History:

* Digital Frontier: Infiltrator: KAN-2 the Miner system-repair program / KAN-3 the Crypto architect
Originally skeptical about the new faces on the Grid, KAN-2's duties led to him working side by side with the newly awoken Cryptos and gaining respect for their abilities - and away from working with his old friend SHIRO as it turned, in his eyes, from a fair minded logic program to an obsessive Rebel leader. On finding out that it'd become what looked like a whole new form of Program, he sought refuge in the Cryptos' code library to clear his mind... and, alongside fellow Miners, walked into discovering secrets they hadn't wanted discovered.
If the options were to turn his back on what he'd learned and what they could teach him forever, or to choose to join them and fulfil his potential and Purpose in a new way... the choice was clear, and he threw himself at the new life presented. From then on, the newly-converted KAN-3 would rapidly find himself growing closer to the members of his new suite, and working to aid and protect his faction as they pushed on to find their lost User, SAGE... also known as the Hermit.

* Marches of Purgatory: Investigator: Maestro's son, artist, bartender
Kanji planned on keeping a low profile for his first time out investigating as himself. Keeping an eye on his Infiltrator friends, sharing a couple of bits of news as they came up... still. He had a couple of moments. Having the chance to learn magic other than his Persona skills, getting to see Leonardo's greatest works first hand (and having the maestro introduce him as 'the closest thing to a son he has'), even picking himself up a bar job at Purgatory's favourite drinking spot... he certainly kept himself busy. Perhaps the 'low profile' bit didn't work as well as he hoped... but it was a Jaunt where very little did. At least he came out of it better than some.

* Questing Country: Infiltrator: Kei Tourmaline, Champion of Threads
A young Hecatite scholar, expected to be a paragon of discipline and logic at home, but he's not always coped well with the pressure... Embarked on his first Valence Quest alongside his Bond 'brother' Naoki, 'papa' (despite ages) Lupa and 'uncle' Dorian, later connecting to new Oracle Janos along the way and making friends with another young member of his kind who'd suffered a deep loss. While he initially worked to make sure that everyone - including the newest Champions and the likes to arrive - has a fair chance at the prize, he's found out more and more about the secrets behind his bondmates, friends, and the mysteries of Questing Country itself along the way... while he didn't win a Valence for himself, he gave it everything he could, and he's happy with how things worked out.

* Lightning Age: Infiltrator: Kiran Tachibana, gadgeteer apprentice
A young man born to a family from Uchinaa but raised in the Chakravartin Raj among their ornate and beautiful clockwork designs, Kiran showed an uncanny talent for construction at a young age, and eventually followed his master to Nova Venezia... Even if he missed a lot of the excitement, he did manage to meet fellow creators and engineers, and managed to learn a thing or two, but it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for the young craftsman. An injury in a storm, panic in the bombing, rumours his master was the mad scientist Blitzkopf, and word of what could be found in the shadows of Nova Venezia left their marks...
...But a fleeting encounter with an enigmatic proxy left the most lasting mark of all on someone who could have been the only infiltrator in the city who'd been just what he'd seemed. Just an engineer seeking to be the best he could.

* Cursed Kingdom: The Missing Dragon: Investigator: Green Illuminant's apprentice
It's not easy being green, but it beats being yellow or violet.
The idea of landing in the same world as Dolorosa after his own magic research had come so far intrigued Kanji as the Travellers arrived in Misericordia, but the reality of their situation soon set in. While his attempt at getting an 'in' with the city's leading mercenary group failed, he at least managed to make one powerful (if ... tiny) contact eventually...
Unfortunately, trying to keep secrets on both sides would prove hard... but a promise is a promise, right? That on top of their constant bad luck and bad timing, finding out about the dragon's eggs too late, would push Kanji's willpower and determination to their limits ... something even the Walkabout's patron, the Empress, would notice.

* Escape from Junkworld: Infiltrator: Kyan, prodigy astronomer [plot role]
A Hecatite raised from a bud in the harsh and unforgiving conditions of Junkworld Gehenna, Kyan was always a dreamer with his head in the stars and ambitions of leaving one day. He took any chance to gather data and visions of other worlds, from running the transmission tower to getting cybernetic upgrades to allow him to sense and process things that others couldn't...
Until a stray signal in the transmissions and static he was receiving led him to discover the Tachyon Storm that would threaten their wreck of a world, throwing the young astronomer into a fight to get everyone away safely - and driving him into deeper and deeper fascination with the phenomenon he'd discovered...

Social Links and CR:

Note that even fellow Wild Cards will not be a Fool Arcana SL: the Fool SL here is more 'his links to the Persona users and Travellers as a whole', and some of the other Arcana are also off the table. Just because someone hasn't actively made a link with him doesn't mean he doesn't like them as much as people he's made a link to! Links are fickle, mostly hitting when he finds he's reached some clear common ground. And, heck, sometimes links happen with people he doesn't even like.

Kanji's pinged as Strength, Hermit and Fool Social Links to other Persona users so far; Chariot's an option, too (even if he'd grumble a bit, he still sees the card's qualities as a positive for him), and he'd feel weird about Emperor.

* Naoki Konishi: Hanged Man Arcana
Kanji's closest friend, and the only person to come with him from their particular branch of the Inaba timeline mess. They've been working together since he first put his hand through a TV.

* Naoto Shirogane : Sun Arcana
The (...second) most intelligent person Kanji knows (or sometimes the dumbest, he can't tell). But even though this isn't the Naoto he's worked with for almost a year, he still trusts her and her opinions more than almost anyone else, and wants to be there for her. ...If she'll let him.

* Phillip "Pharos" Santorini: Star Arcana
A younger boy who Kanji first met when he first arrived, but who he grew close to during their time on the Grid, and now sees as a younger brother. Smart and optimistic, Kanji wants to make sure that he's alright in this weird situation - especially when he's turning into a Shadow...

* Genevieve "Monaco" Blanchard: Priestess Arcana
Kanji wouldn't have expected to find himself making a connection to the incarnation of a whole country! But getting to know her Grid persona led to a meeting of cute-loving minds between their real selves, and a lot of unexpected common ground.

* Leonardo da Vinci: Strength Arcana
Took him in as a Crypto on the Grid; now a foster father and creative inspiration, though it's taken a while to adapt to the concept. Kanji's latched onto him hard, trying to prove himself in a way he never had the chance to with his real father...

* Lupa: Emperor Arcana (!)
One time leader of the Wolves of the Junkyard - but more importantly to Kanji, the leader of the Wolves of Liminal Space. The former Oracle he'd relied on in Questing Country. While he's a little nervous thanks to what the demon virus means, and tries to put it to the back of his mind more than he should, there's still a lot of respect there and he's proud to have been chosen.

* Seraphita "Sera" Angel - arcana unknown
His adopted sister via Leonardo, Kanji hopes to show her that she doesn't have to be a genius to be special and worthy in her own right. (Though he can't help but worry for her, with what he knows of her background...)

* Alcuin nĂ³ Delaunay - arcana unknown
His mentor and "senpai" (though he's yet to use the term) as a magic student, and someone who's helping Kanji overcome his lack of belief in his intelligence. ... Well, he was until Misericordia happened. And Naoto's dungeon.

* Ambrose Langwe - arcana unknown
A teacher figure who beats the hell out of most of the folks from Yasogami High. (Though Kanji's still wondering about the best time to ask about the zipper.)

* Charlene "Thorne" Durante - arcana unknown
First met in Questing Country, where the two Hecatite teens befriended each other - now, with her an adult, the friendship's a strange one but he's definitely cool with it; someone to introduce him to new games and share his interests with's fine by him. (And hell: vampirism's small fry in his eyes by now.)

* Maria Ushiromiya - arcana unknown
A very strange but cheery young girl who Kanji first met while her overlay was host to the Green Illuminant in Misericordia. He's planning on teaching her the magic she forgot following the Jaunt, though who's the apprentice in this situation?

* Souji Seta - arcana unknown
The leader of "the other Investigation Teams". While Kanji mostly thinks he's a nice person, if kind of a space cadet, and appreciates a guy with a love of cats, he... can't help but feel like perhaps he's standing in Souji's shadow.

* Minako Arisato - arcana unknown
The leader of the Iwatodai Persona crew, Kanji'd kind of like to get to know her better.

* Levi Ackerman - arcana unknown (absent)
An adult friend who Kanji's pretty relaxed around. ...And Trump buddy, though he doesn't know that.

* Ken Amada: Hermit Arcana (absent)
A younger Persona user with a lot on his mind. (...And a cute dog. Okay.) What he's supposed to do, where he's supposed to go... Kanji knows he can't answer those questions for him, but he'll give what advice he can... and perhaps help him find ways to clear his mind, too.

* Tohru Adachi: Tower Arcana
The Wild Card of his own timeline. A goofball detective, who Kanji's still not quite sure where he stands with - but if Naoki can trust him, he can, and he appreciates the support he's giving him.

* Yua Narukami - arcana unknown
Another incarnation of his senpai, but in a closer situation to Kanji's own; he sympathises with her deeply and worries given how Travelling's ground her down.

Hermit *
The first Trump Kanji talked to, under the guise of SAGE on the Grid; while the young Crypto'd been eager to please his User, he'd been turned away and told to find his own path - but also to remember him. Kanji at least appreciates that the Trump was honest with him and gave him some good advice, but dislikes how his faction alignment's interfering with his viewpoint on the situation...

Chariot *
... On the other hand, Kanji's very much resentful over the fact that the Trump who actually chose him didn't even bother to stop and talk about the situation, and grabbed him while Infiltrating. While he'll somewhat acknowledge that the traits connected to the arcana are those he prides in himself, it doesn't help his opinion - and he won't acknowledge that being marked had some positive effects for him with regards to his view of himself.

Empress *
Nicest damn Trump Kanji's met given she actually tried to cheer him up, though he could have done without her implying Emperor should have gotten him instead...

General Notes:

* Kanji always infiltrates under different names, as a nod to his "game protag" status and the Persona series' tendency to have insert-name-here heroes. For consistency's sake, though, these will likely still have K.T. initials. Or possibly T.K.

* He has a girlfriend back home! He dated Yukiko, and is/was very happy with her. (Ma was pleased, too.) No 'harem run' business for this boy, and he never became aware if Naoto had any feelings towards him. That said, he didn't complete every social link he made back there - he missed out on Magician, Moon, Strength and Devil, though the last was definitely a case of "just having a social link does not mean you care for the person"... (Possibly missed Hermit too. DAMMIT FISH.)

* He pretty much sees the Trumps in the same light as Izanami back home: while he doesn't think they're malicious, they're still screwing with peoples' lives and he wants to know why. He's worried about what being marked means, though... and wouldn't mind the chance to punch Chariot in the face, okay.

* He takes his membership of the Wolves Tribe damn seriously. This is one of the few times that an authority figure has trusted him in this way, after all, and he was chosen as the very first of them in Liminal Space... as such, he's very rarely seen without their signature white markings on his clothes, and never without the membership ribbon unless he's actually infiltrating.

* Somewhat similarly, he still keeps the ring that the Green Illuminant gave him somewhere on him, usually on a necklace. Though this is partly out of pride at being told he knew what he was doing with magic - and partly out of worry as to what she'd do if they ever met again and he'd gotten rid of it...
